Senators Make a Coup Deal in Goal

The Ottawa Senators made what could be the steal of the trade deadline on Sunday morning, when they traded their 2013 second round pick to the St. Louis Blues for goaltender Ben Bishop. Considered the best goalie not playing in the NHL right now, the 6'7 propect had a stellar year in Peoria, which included AHL All-Star Game MVP honours back in January. The 25 year old is currently holding down a 2.26 GAA along with an AHL-leading .928 save percentage; the Sens have him locked up for another year after which he still has RFA status.

First Major Trade For The First Year Team

Last week, center Riley Holzapfel became the first roster player on the IceCaps to be traded in the team's brief history. In exchange for Holzapfel, the Jets acquired center Maxime Macenauer from Anaheim, their 3rd round draft choice in 2007.
